Unwinding at Sonnen Berg

Do you need to take a break from the city’s hustle and bustle? Then this place is for you.

This must-visit place is located at Marilog, Marilog District, Davao City. It’s approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes by car or bus from Davao City’s downtown area to Sonnen Berg. There is an entrance fee of Php 50.00 or $0.99 per person. It’s advisable for you to go there around 5:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. so that you’ll be able to see the majestic sea of clouds which made Sonnen Berg a famous tourist spot in Davao City.

The Experience

We arrived at Sonnen Berg around 1:00 p.m. Unsurprisingly, the sky was already clear, so we were not able to witness the majestic sea of clouds. Upon entering the place’s vicinity, you’ll see cages with large dogs in it. Then you’ll just walk a little bit and a guy will be waiting for you to collect the entrance fee. The place is not so huge, and it’s usually packed with people, but the view is really magnificent. All you can see are lush trees and mountains. It’s as if you’re on top of the world. It’s simply amazing.

This is the house where you can stay and eat. There’s also a mini pool however the water looks a little bit murky.
